Bio: Brian Shanks

Brian has a passion for working alongside senior leaders in business to influence leadership skills and organisational culture around values and integrity. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, a professional accredited executive coach, member of the Institute of Leadership and Management and a member of the Institute of Stress Management.

Whilst his main clients are based in the UK, he has worked on International assignments for these companies. His clients include senior leaders in oil and gas, financial services, corporate banks, managed global services, the food industry, public services (social services, education and health care) and third sector.

Brian is an experienced HR professional, accredited professional executive coach, management consultant, trainer and facilitator with a strong background in organisational effectiveness, behavioural safety, change management, performance, engagement, team effectiveness and cultural transformation. He brings insights and experiences from 30 years in policing, oil and gas onshore and offshore, managed services, financial services and third sector.

Brian's coaching and facilitation experience span 14 years working with executives, managers and teams. His senior management and HR background has been valued by organisations enabling him to develop excellent understanding of organisational culture and strategy. His strong ethical background, values and care for people development is respected by clients and colleagues.

Brian has extensive experience in coaching, career consulting, training, facilitation and project management for leadership and senior management in operators and SME’s. Delivering behavioural safety training and facilitation for oil and gas clients in UK and overseas and coaching to leadership to influence safety culture. Brian has 30 years’ experience with Grampian Police where he reached the rank of T/Chief Inspector. He is an accredited professional executive coach with the Association for Coaching and spent several years as team lead for NE Scotland region as the `coaches` coach.
